Verity Vox and the Veil of Death

Witches have magic, but humans have power.

Verity Vox was done with her witch's training. The curse was broken, the monster was slain, and the bridge was rebuilt. But bridges work two ways.

Change is coming to Foxfire.

The company that built the town is under new ownership, and they have developed devastating methods to revolutionize coal mining: blow the top off the mountain and scoop out the insides. Little do they know this will free the hungry god locked beneath the hills.

With only a week before the dynamite is lit, Verity is summoned once again to aid her found family. But this time she isn't alone. Her coven comes with her to ensure the elder god's cage holds, but when strange, gory ritual sites appear, it is clear the Mountain has contingency plans of its own. Everything wants, but everything costs.

If the company doesn't free the Mountain first, another power will. Time is not on the coven's side, but what is magic if not the power to tip the scales?
