Dragon Strong Reading Academy is a free summer reading program for kids in grades K–8, run entirely by The Midnight Oil Bookstore in Greeley, Colorado. This summer, 2,500 kids will earn 3D printed dragons by reading. Children start with a 4" dragon and work their way up to a 2ft dragon they take home and keep forever.
The anticipated cost this summer is upwards of $30,000. Every dollar of it comes from our own pockets, our community, and people like you.

Choose the level that feels right:
Dragon Supporter $15 covers one roll of regular filament - this covers roughly 50 level 1 dragons or 16 level 2 dragons
Dragon Keeper $30 covers one roll of premium filament — this covers 4 final dragons
Dragon Champion $50 sponsors one child through the entire program and also helps offset costs for additional printing and painting materials
Dragon Elder $100 sponsors two children through the full program and earns your name on the Dragon Strong 2025 Community Wall — a printed poster displayed at The Midnight Oil Bookstore bearing the names of every supporter who helped make this summer possible.
Every dollar goes directly toward filament, materials, and keeping this program free for every kid who walks through our door.
